I'm Landyn, the founder of Physiothenix, Registered Physiotherapist, and your dedicated health coach. My journey in the realm of physical well-being began with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and escalated to a Master of Fitness Science from York University. Fueling my passion, I furthered my education with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. I've had the privilege of working with diverse individuals, from the young to the young at heart, spanning from those facing critical health challenges to elite athletes. To forge a powerful therapeutic bond with each patient, guiding them towards personal triumphs and restoring the strength and confidence needed to relish their favourite activities.

Recognizing the intricate nature of health, injury, and pain, I adopt a holistic approach to assessment and treatment. I'm a firm believer in the mantra "movement is medicine," empowering you to actively participate in your physical therapy journey. My methodology combines exercise, patient education, and lifestyle coaching, complemented by manual therapy techniques.

Beyond the clinic, catch me conquering calisthenics, mastering strength training, indulging in martial arts, and dancing up a storm at the local studio.

  • Certified Personal Trainer, NASM

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NSCA

I’m James, a personal trainer and strength coach at Physiothenix. I began my training journey at a young age through calisthenics, and during my undergraduate years at McMaster University—where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science—I started taking streetlifting and weighted calisthenics seriously as a competitive pursuit. That process of training, learning, and problem-solving ultimately led me to pivot toward personal training and strength coaching, where I found a deeper passion for helping others. I obtained my Certification as a Personal Trainer through NASM, and I’m in the process of becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA. I genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences and seeing clients make meaningful progress toward their personal goals.

My approach to coaching is rooted in the belief that mindset and personal beliefs are at the core of sustainable change. I focus on strength-based, evidence-informed training methods that build not just physical capacity, but confidence and long-term consistency. Whether working with general fitness clients or strength-focused athletes, my goal is to create training that is purposeful, adaptable, and empowering—helping people develop a healthier relationship with movement while building strength that carries over into everyday life.

In my time outside of the gym, you can find me playing my favourite songs on the piano, exploring different philosophies and spiritual practices, and watching one too many cute cat videos.
